This course is a brief history of Planet Earth, all encapsulated in one semester. We will begin with the origins of our solar system and travel through geologic time, finishing with Quaternary history and the most recent ice ages. Topics include the formation of the continents and the origins and evolution of life. We will also develop a "toolbox" of geologic skills that will enable you to reconstruct past geologic environments and events.
