Whitman College offers students an intensive theatre curriculum with an equally ambitious production schedule. We are a small liberal arts college (about 1200 students), and in 1988 our department graduated20 majors, the fourth highest number of majors in any department.

Students work in all areas of theatre at Whitman. We employ approximately 25 students in areas such as publicity, box office, construction, electrics, painting, and costumes. In addition to acting and directing projects, we produce 9 stage productions each year. Students volunteer to design about 25 percent of the productions we produce, and they have ample opportunities to mount and run productions.
