A Victorian country Christmas is a seasonal festival in the Seattle area. It has become one of the largest Christmas trade shows on the West Coast, occupying approximately 300,000 square feet of display space. It incorporates costumed vendors in a decorated village setting, with holiday entertainment on 4 stages, Christmas parades, a tree lighting ceremony, and a Living Nativity performance with over 200 performers in a 2000 seat amphitheatre. Festival attendance was 90,000 in 1993.

All show design elements, festival advertising, and organizational procedures were developed by Tom Hines. All construction was completed by Designlab, Inc., a company created and managed by the designer.

 Basic Design Elements:

• 700 Vendor Store Fronts with interchangeable components • Exterior Gates, Marquee Designs • 4 Performance stages with custom sets • Lighting Designs for all Performance Stages • Living Nativity Production Design for 2000 seat amphitheater • Christmas Parade Floats - Tree Lighting Ceremony • Animation Displays • Information booths, Custom Vendor Booths • Festival Banners and Exterior Holiday Decorations

 Additional Production Responsibilities:

• Developed Relational Database for Scenery Inventory and Vendor Billing • Developed Database and System for Scenery Storage and Festival Assembly • Graphic Designs for Brochures, Posters, Newspaper Ads, Television Commercials, Tickets, etc. • Design and Management of Scene Shop used for Festival Construction • Managed Material and Labor Budgets for all Scenery Construction • Hired and Managed Construction Team which consisted of a Technical Director, 5 Carpenters, and 2 Scene Painters
