I am an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at Whitman College. At Whitman, I am involved in teaching organic chemistry, while continuing research with students that investigates the synthesis of new derivatives of carborane clusters, cages of carbon and boron atoms that have potential uses in medicine, advanced materials, and chemical industry.
Prior to joining the faculty at Whitman in 2009, I held visiting positions at Colby College in Waterville, Maine and Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. In addition to teaching, I enjoy cycling, running, hiking, cooking, and brewing beer, as well as spending time with my wife, Abby, our daughther, Alexandra, and our dog, Inyo.
