* TEXT = Castro&Huber Marine Biology 2008

**FIELD TRIP:  You will also need a field/lab manual if you are taking the Field Trip; the manual will be handed out in class and charged to your account. PLEASE GET A BINDER FOR THESE.

GRADING:  for Biol 278 will be based on 300 total points, as follows:

      EXAM I    (12.5  lectures)                  -- 90 points (30%)

      EXAM III  (13 lectures)                      -- 95 points (32%)

      FINAL EXAM (14 lectures, & review) --115 points (38%)--partly comprehensive

For Biol 279, grading is based on:

      FIELD TRIP (reports)                                    --150 points (unless some exercises are canceled due to weather)

ATTENDANCE: lectures rely heavily on visual material not in the text. Significant unexcused absence from class may result in a drop in the final grade.
