Course description: This course covers series and sequences as well as integral calculus. We begin with a study sequences and series, limits, convergence, and polynomial approximations. We will continue with a definition of the integral and the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus. We will cover several applications of integration to mathematics as well as other sciences and economics. Textbook: Calculus by David Guichard. We will be covering chapters 11, 7,8,and 9

Homework: We will assign homework from each section of the text. We will discuss it in class, though it will not be collected. Each class, I will assign 7-10 WeBWork problems, which you will be responsible to complete. More details on WeBWork will follow in class. I will also offer occasional challenge problems/assignments for extra credit.

Exams and Quizzes This class will have one midterm and a cumulative final, as well as a quiz every other week (starting next Friday). These quizzes will be approximately 30 minutes in length and will mirror those problems seen on the homework. I will 'halve' your lowest quiz.

The midterm will take place in mid to late October and will be announced at least one week in advance. The final exam will be set by the Registrars office and cannot be rescheduled except in rare and extreme circumstances.

Grading: Grades will be assigned on a rougly 90-80-70 scale, with grades weighted as follows.

Quizzes	30%

Homework & Class Participation	10 %

Academic Honesty: Students are allowed, and in fact, encouraged, to collaborate on homework assignments. However, the work that you turn in must be your own. No copying from any source! Exams will be closed book, closed notes, and closed colleague. I will give any special instructions regarding the use of calculators at the time of a quiz or exam.
