Optional videos, Differential Equations
Math 244, Spring 2022
What is this?
These course videos are provided as an extra option for you to study. These
are especially useful if you need to miss a class or two, however, these
are from a different semester (Spring 2021), so the material may be slightly
different from class (I don't have time constraints for online videos, so I stick
very closely to the schedule when I use them). If you have any questions, please
ask me!
Daily Information and Links
- Week 1: Chapter 1 Sorry for the crappy audio- The microphone was
picking up the system noise as well as my voice! (Fixed later)
- Week 2: Starting Ch 2
- Mon: First order linear DEs (Section 2.1)
- Wed: Separable DEs
- Fri: 2.2, continued.
- Week 3: Section 2.3 Modeling (Friday was canceled)
- Week 4:
- Monday: 2.4 (Existence and Uniqueness Theory, Bernoulli Equations)
- Wednesday: 2.5 (Autonomous DEs)
- Friday: 2.5, continued. Start 2.6 if time
- Week 5: (Exam week)
- Week 6: (Short week with President's Day and P\& P)
- Section 3.2:
- Complex Numbers Overview (going over the class handout)
- Reminder of some useful trigonometry

- Section 3.4 (in class, we did both 3.3 and 3.4)
- Section 3.5 The Method of Undetermined Coefficients.

Important Note, Spring 22 Section 3.6 will not be on the exam, but the videos are here for later,
and you'll want to watch the videos for the complexification.

- Section 3.8: Analysis of the Mass-Spring Model.
- Section 6.1: The video mentions a table of transforms. This is available in Section 6.2, pg 317. You might take a photo and convert it to a PDF for yourself to make it convenient when you're working on HW.

we're going to restrict ourselves to the plane (two dimensional systems).
